Even a one-person business needs to establish policies that pertain to refunds, cancellations, make-ups, etc. Please take the time to review the information below.
CANCELLATION AND MAKEUP POLICY:
Blue Ocean Swimming reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. Cancellation decisions may be made up to the third week of classes. When possible, Blue Ocean Swimming will provide an alternate class. If this is not possible, a credit or refund will be issued to the registrant. Attendance to scheduled classes is the responsibility of the participant. Up to one (1) makeup per student per term will be granted, based upon availability and are not guaranteed. If Blue Ocean Swimming cancels a class due to an unforeseen, uncontrollable circumstance (i.e. pool closure) a makeup class will be offered. In the event a makeup cannot be arranged, a credit will be issued upon request. WEATHER CONDITIONS: If public schools are closed due to inclement weather, program classes will be canceled. No makeup classes, credits, or refunds will be granted. Blue Ocean Swimming reserves the right to cancel program classes due to inclement weather during days public schools are not in session. A makeup or credit will be offered upon request should a class be canceled three (3) or more times in a single term due to weather conditions. Please call us at 917.971.3541 prior to coming to Blue Ocean Swimming during inclement weather. Specialty training classes are canceled due to inclement weather on a case-by-case basis. MAKEUP AND CREDIT CONDITIONS: Makeup classes are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Makeups expire at the end of the term and are not transferrable. REFUND POLICY: All refund requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. The program refund schedule is as follows: For 100% refund or credit –written request must be received one week prior to the first scheduled class. For 75% refund or credit – written request must be received two days prior to the second scheduled class. NO REFUNDS will be granted after the second scheduled class session. Pro-rated fees are not available. Blue Ocean Swimming programs are subject to change or cancellation. Blue Ocean Swimming is not responsible for providing makeups, credits, or issuing refunds for programs missed as a result of illness, emergencies or other events beyond the control of Blue Ocean Swimming. Please allow four to six weeks from receipt for processing a refund request. The handling charge for all requested refunds is $15.00. PRIVATE LESSONS: All private lesson packages are non-refundable outside of the following extenuating circumstances:

FAQ PROGRAM CLASSES:
How do I know when I do not have class? Class exception dates, or days when programs are not held, are listed on the calendar page. Does Blue Ocean Swimming offer trial classes? While, we do not offer the option of trying a class before enrolling, we invite participants to observe classes that they are interested in. We are happy to answer any questions you have about our classes. Please contact, coach Valentin. Can I sign up for a class once the term has started? Yes, we are more than happy to welcome your child into a class if there is space. To sign up for a class after the registration period has closed, please contact coach, Valentin directly. Be advised we do not offer a pro-rated tuition fee. If I am on a waiting list, should I show up for class? No. Being on a waiting list does not mean that you are registered for a class. If space becomes available, we will contact you to complete the registration process. What if the class I want is already full? You can enroll in the same class at a different time, email or call coach, Valentin to put your name on the waiting list to be enrolled should a space become available. I have been in a class for the past two semesters and now it is closed. Is there any way I can be enrolled in this class? Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. In an effort to reward our returning class participants, we offer a priority registration period before the class is open to new customers. If a class is filled, you can place your name on a waiting list to be enrolled should a space become available. If I buy a punch-card for Deep Water Running online, how do I get my class card? You can pick up your class card at your first workout. Do you ever close due to weather? If public schools are closed due to inclement weather, program classes will be canceled. To register online click “BUY/REGISTER” on the product you are interested in. Am I eligible for priority registration? You are eligible for priority registration if you are enrolled in the current term. Can you make payments on classes? Full payment is required at time of registration. Do you accept checks? Yes. Checks should be made payable to “Blue Ocean Swimming Inc.” There is a $25.00 fee for returned checks. How do I know which class to register for in the upcoming term? Classes are generally sectioned by ability, and goals. Please read the detailed class descriptions on the website to decide if a class is right for you.
