Coach Valentin has a class for you and the youngest people in your family
Robert J. Valentin’s Blue Ocean Swimming program is always fun and challenging. He keeps it fun by keeping the class moving, keeping the skills changing, and incorporating a little controlled chaos. He makes it challenging, by introducing drills and exercises that require concentration, balance, and a little strength.
Coach Valentin is working on the 2021 schedule of classes. You can find a description of the classes that are upcoming. SPLASHER (2-6 months) The Splashers group is primarily designed to introduce young babies and toddlers to the wonderful world of aquatics. Parents and children play and sing together while becoming familiar with skills such as kicking, bubble blowing, jumping and floating.
SCOOTER (6-18 months) Scooters are mastering the ability to move themselves through the water. With the aid of swim bubbles and noodles, scooters are learning about breath control, proper arm and leg movements, buoyancy and deep water exploration.
MOVER (18 months-3 years) My Movers group is ready to do just that; MOVE! This group will focus on body position, proper kicking technique, over-arm recovery and rotary breathing. Movers are also introduced to over-arm backstroke, kicking on the side and the Breast Stroke kick.
GLIDER (3-5 Years) Gliders work on efficient swimming. Swimmers are introduced to new and challenging drills that help to promote an efficient Freestyle Stroke. This group will focus mastering the streamline, establishing and maintaining a flow line and reducing stroke counts. Gliders also work on bi-lateral breathing, sculling & flip turns. Gliders are introduced to Back, Breast & Butterfly strokes.
WAVE MAKER (Ages 5 years +) This group is learning how to swim fast! Fast and Efficient are the main ideas here. Participants will become proficient at flip turns, maintaining a flow line and constantly moving forward, bi-lateral breathing and interval training. Wave Makers are also focusing on all four competitive swimming strokes; Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly and Breast stroke. Please call or send an email if you are interested in this group
